Was fun time

The picn*x event was a fun time. Still waiting to see some of the pictures that others took at the event. Was nice talking to everyone that showed up. I look forward to doing it again next year. Perhaps we should revive the BaBug...

Agreed!

I also had a lot of fun.

Regarding the photos, I will try to put up a gallery, so that people can upload their photos to the site.

Pics hopefully tomorrow...

I didn't have physical access to my camera all day today - so I haven't had a chance to pull the pictures off of it. I anticipate that this will happen tomorrow night after work.

I also need to process the video on my MiniDV camera and see about getting something hacked together from that - I'll probably employ Sikosis since he does such a great job on that stuff ;)

good times

I know I had a good time. The location couldn't have been better. It was luck that we found Picnix. It was set in a lovely park, had a built-in base of Linux users, and had free food and t-shirts. We were out there showing Haiku off, interacting with the Linux community, and meeting lots of interesting people. I doubt WalterCon could've been better than what we had. WalterCon would have just been the five or six of us talking in a circle about Haiku, which while fun, doesn't advance the cause of Haiku.

Urias and I got a bit of a sunburn, not to mention I tripped on scottmc's bag :-)

By the way, I got the red-hatted woman on tape saying her name.

I too, had a great time.

This picnic totally cemented an observation I've always had about BeOS / Haiku type people:

We're way cooler than Linux folks.

Seriously though, I've never seen so many socially awkward / inept people in one place before in my life -- but they weren't there for the Haiku table, they were there for the Linux.

We did evangelize the product amongst them, and I'm sure they'll pass some of the info along, it wasn't at all a waste. It was a great time.

My wife (Kylene) also got sunburn... Her arms are very pink right now.

I'll have some pictures posted sometime soon... we just got back from the trip.
